In order to recall the best performance on race day, besides enough training kilometers, it is crucial to sleep well and have good food the days before the race. Even more so when competing in a competition, such as the 1st Kitzbuehel Cycling Marathon, consisting of over 216 race kilometers and 4,600 meters of altitude! The organisation was able to cooperate with “Kitzbuehel Tourismus” and the luxurious “Harisch Hotels” in order to put together an exclusive multi-day packages including the cheapest entry fee.
Kitzbuehel, also known as the sports city of the Alps, offers more than 300 accommodations in different categories. In cooperation with four exclusive “Harisch Hotels”, a package for four overnight stays from Thursday to Monday is now available, including the lowest starting fee for the 1st Kitzbuehel Cycling Marathon. Starting at a price from 500 euros per night you could stay at the “Hotel Schwarzer Adler ****superior”, in the “Hotel Goldener Greif ****”, at the “LISI Family Hotel ****” or at the “Hotel Weisses Roessl *****”. All wellness facilities and rich breakfast buffets are included – on the race day of July 5, from 4:00 a.m.

The cycling weekend in Kitzbühel combines popular and top-class sports in an incomparable way. On Friday, July 3, 2020, the last stage of the 72nd Tour of Austria ends at the “Kitzbueheler Horn” and two days later all hobby riders are challenged to fight for the leadership jerseys. “We invite the participants and their companions to the big showdown of the Tour of Austria victory on July 3. Former marathon specialist, Nadja Prieling, will hold an exciting lecture at the “Alpenhaus” right before the tour finale. In addition, the “Kitzbueheler Horn-Bahn” is free of charge for all visitors on this day. On Saturday, we invite the participants to the marathon fair in the Kitzbuehel Sports Park, where the driver meeting begins at 6.00 p.m.On the day of the marathon, the accompanying persons can once again use the “Horn-Bahn” free of charge in order to cheer for their loved ones,” says organiser Franz Steinberger. And as a special treat amongst all the starters, who have already registered, a raffle will be done once a month from March to June. The starters could win one of the “Harisch Hotel” packages including four overnight stays at one of the hotels.
Cycling Paradise around Kitzbuehel
Cycling tourism is booming in the Alps, especially in Kitzbuehel. Here the tourism board has created a pocket guide with useful information for road cyclists, mountain bikers or e-bikers fitting to all kinds of skills. With this season, fourteen brand new routes in all levels of difficulty are opening including courses with a total length of over 1,200 kilometers and 18,000 meters of altitude. Of course, the Kitzbueheler Horn with a maximum gradient of 22.3 percent is also included! “The area surrounding Kitzbuehel and our 1st Kitzuebheler Cycling Marathon leave nothing to be desired. The 216 km long route leads to Kitzbuehel via the “Pass Thurn” into the “Pinzgau”, past the “Großvenediger” via the “Gerloser Bundesstraße” into the “Zillertal”. Afterwards, the hobby riders drive over the “Alpbach” valley into the Tyrolean lower lands via the ascent at “Brandenberg” into the “Brixental”.Once in Kitzbuehel, we head up to the “Alpenhaus”, where you can experience the real flair of the Tour of Austria at the finish,” Steinberger describing the route.
